Looking for the Best Greenville Dentist for your family?
Greenville Dentist, Dr. Keenan Smith is a Greenville native and a graduate of Wade Hampton High School. Dr. Smith continued his academic career at Clemson University where he graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. For eight years, he worked as an actuary with prominent life insurance firms in both North Carolina and South Carolina. He enjoyed this profession, but wanted a career where he could help others. Even with his successes working in corporate finance, Dr. Smith soon realized his true calling was dentistry. He entered dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina at the age of 31 where he was an active member of Psi Omega Dental Service Fraternity in school. While at MUSC, Dr. Smith graduated among the top of his class in 2007.
Dr. Smith and his family moved back to his hometown of Greenville in 2007. Immediately, he began working with children and young adults in a pediatric dental practice. In 2009, Dr. Smith purchased a thirty year old established general dentistry practice founded by Dr. Bob Wallace, a well respected member of the dental community. Keenan is an active member of the Greenville County Dental Society, South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a believer in improving his clinical skills in dentistry through continuing education. Dr. Smith’s goal of 50 or more hours in the classroom per year greatly exceeds the state annual requirement of 14 hours.
Keenan is an avid volunteer in our community and above all a generous person who devotes his time to helping others. You can often find him at the downtown medical clinic providing emergency dental care to those in need. He and his wife Christina, along with their five children, are active members of Grace Church. Dr. Smith has also been part of a recent medical mission team from his church to Kenya.
